The natural next step toward further improving quality, access and affordability is to connect the delivery of care with the funding of care through the development of a health plan.

Idaho is fortunate to have regional and national insurance providers offering coverage in the state, but more competition is never a bad thing for consumers. As the only locally based health system in Idaho, we have a unique understanding of the health care needs in our communities. St. Luke’s Health Plan has the knowledge and resources needed to design smart, responsive products that meet those needs.

Navigating the health care system and paying for medical services can be confusing and overwhelming. We want to change that. At its core, the aim of St. Luke’s Health Plan is to simplify the care and insurance experience end-to-end.

On top of access to one of the largest provider networks in the state, health plan members are eligible for $0 copays for in-network primary care, preventive care and maternity care. Members will also have access to broad pharmacy benefits including the St. Luke’s specialty pharmacy and prescription delivery services.

St. Luke’s Health Partners is a financially and clinically integrated provider network, and the provider network behind the St. Luke’s Health Plan. Members who enroll in coverage through St. Luke’s Health Plan get in-network access to the doctors, specialists and facilities that make up the St. Luke’s Health Partners network.

St. Luke’s Health Partners is a financially and clinically integrated network, governed by St. Luke’s Health System and independent providers throughout southern Idaho. St. Luke’s Health System is one of thousands of participants in this network. The network provides a proven business structure that enables providers to be accountable for managing the financial and clinical outcomes of defined populations. Working together, the network aligns incentives for participating providers to focus on the best outcomes for members and help assure the most cost-effective delivery of care. One of the mechanisms the network deploys is a uniform interim payment structure, which all payers have equal access to via value-based arrangements with the network. This structure allows all payers to pay identical value-based reimbursement rates to network participants.

Existing relationships and value-based payer partnerships with St. Luke’s Health Partners are expected to continue.
